Do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised. For,
“Yet a little while, and the coming one will come and will not delay; but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.”
But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.
Hebrews 10:35-39 ESV
If you’ve been shrinking back, playing it safe, or just trying to survive— I believe God is saying it’s time to dream again. Not just following your dreams, but stepping into God’s dreams for your life, which are always bigger than you think. For those who will do that even though the news and the world around us would urge caution not courage, this could be the season everything starts to shift.
🔥 Why Now?
Let’s be honest. Past years have been intense. Fatigue, disappointment, even cynicism might’ve taken the edge off your vision. But you can’t stay stuck there.
You’re either dreaming or dying.
The Bible says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” (Proverbs 29:18) You were made for God’s bigger dream. When you stop believing that, something inside you starts to shrivel up. When you dream His dream again, watch out!
💭 Three Kinds of Dreams
There are three kinds of dreams, and only one leads to the life you’re meant for:
The dreams you have while you’re asleep. I wrote a blog about those recently because God speaks through them too. In Scripture, God often speaks through dreams (Joseph, Daniel, Mary’s husband Joseph), but not every dream is from Him. Test them.
The dreams you chase while you’re awake. “I’ve always dreamed of…” You’ve felt it. You may have spoken it out. The desires of your heart matter—they can be put there by God as part of your calling. But they’re not the highest dream.
The dreams God designed you to fulfill. This dream changes everything. It’s the one He’s had in mind for you since before you were born. In scripture God often turned up to open up His dream to people and it’s not always your dream— that may have to die – but it’s always better. And it’s always bigger.
🙌 Why You Need God’s Dream for Your Life
1. God’s Dream Is Better
You might have a dream to be famous. God’s dream is for you to be faithful, fruitful, and fulfilled. Jeremiah 29:11 isn’t just a nice verse I have on my key fob —it’s a promise:
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord… “plans to give you hope and a future.”
Not all your plans will work out, but God’s always will.
2. God’s Dream Is Bigger
Think your dream is big? Well God says, “I can top that.”
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…” —Ephesians 3:20
If your dream doesn’t scare you, if it’s not impossible unless he shows up and does miracles, it’s probably not from God. He’s not limited by your resources, geography, background, or age. He’s only limited by your belief. ‘According to your FAITH it will be done for you!’
3. God’s Dream is Primary
This is where faith and surrender collide. If you want to walk in God’s dream, your first move is to put His dream ahead of yours. When you do, you’ll see Him open doors, pour out resources and somehow orchestrate events you couldn’t make happen in a million years. I know it’s true because I have seen it happen so many times I had to pinch myself that I wasn’t dreaming when it happened!
🚪 Dreaming Isn’t Enough—You Have to Walk Through the Door
Jesus said,
“See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut.” —Revelation 3:8
The door to God’s dream might be open—but it’s not an automatic door. You have to step up and walk through. That’s faith. Too many people miss it because fear shouts louder than faith. But faith comes by hearing God’s Word. Get that – Amplified!
